Job summary

Jewett City Savings Bank in Connecticut seeks a Senior Commercial Loan Officer to develop, negotiate terms, and service commercial loan relationships across CT and RI. This role requires travel within the market area; remote and hybrid work are not offered.

You will oversee loan origination and servicing up to $9.5 million, support credit decisions with the credit analyst, and ensure profitability and compliance. A bachelor's degree and 10+ years of lending experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in lending or related subjects.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible commercial lending experience.
• Understanding of CRE and C&I lending and financial statements.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of the business credit process.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities; detail-oriented.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently and develop profitable relationships.
• Sales and prospecting experience required.
• Excellent customer service and relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow assigned portfolio and expand commercial relationships.
• Engage in customer outreach, networking, and civic activities to promote the bank.
• Develop business and cross-sell other bank services.
• Coordinate outside calling, branch appointments, and loan support tasks.
• Prepare credit memos and determine loan structure with the credit analyst.
• Present loan renewals, reviews, or new requests to lending authorities.
• Manage loan closings and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor borrowers' financial condition and perform ongoing credit analyses.
