Job summary

Jobot, a respected Chicago-area business law firm, seeks an experienced Commercial Litigation Associate with 7+ years of experience and a strong background in commercial litigation. The role offers 1800 billable hours, a base salary of $200K–$225K+ depending on experience, significant bonus potential, and firm-paid health insurance.

You will handle sophisticated matters from inception to resolution, mentor junior attorneys, and work directly with partners and clients in a hybrid downtown Chicago

Qualifications

• 7+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong background in commercial/business litigation.
• Illinois Bar admission.
• Strong writing, research and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience independently managing sophisticated matters.
• Trial/arbitration experience is a plus.
• Portable business is not required, but attorneys with existing client relationships or an interest in business development are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Handle sophisticated commercial and business litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Manage complex disputes involving contracts, businesses, real estate, construction, partnerships/shareholders and other commercial matters.
• Draft and argue substantive and dispositive motions.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Handle hearings, mediations, arbitrations and trial preparation.
• Work directly with clients and senior partners on litigation strategy.
• Mentor junior attorneys and take on a meaningful role within the litigation group.
