Job summary

Sentry in Stevens Point, Wisconsin is seeking a Senior Claims Representative for our Commercial Lines - Liability teams. You will independently manage a caseload, investigate and settle claims, review coverages, and negotiate with claimants and attorneys.

Hybrid schedule offered with some days in the office and others from home. You will collaborate with partners, leverage Sentry University for ongoing learning, and contribute to our commitment to excellent service and community support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related experience.
• 3+ years of related work experience.
• Thorough claims knowledge of claims and claims processes.
• Ability to review and analyze complex documents, insurance policies, coverages, medical reports, and insurance regulations.
• Ability to make appropriate claim decisions, prioritize, and manage workload.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle conflict and negotiate resolutions.
• Technology aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve insurance claims with independent caseload management.
• Verify coverages by reviewing policies and terms.
• Evaluate liability using statements, police reports, and evidence.
• Analyze exposures and settle claims in the insured's and claimant's best interest.
• Assess bodily injury and property damages with providers and appraisers.
• Establish timely reserves and negotiate settlements with insured, claimants, and attorneys.
• Document all decisions and communications per policy requirements.
