Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. seeks a seasoned Commercial Lending Officer to drive growth in a South State metro market. You will cultivate consultative relationships with prospects and clients, structure and underwrite loans, and ensure timely, accurate credit packages.

You will collaborate with Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Wealth, and Retail teams, manage a loan portfolio, and uphold fair lending practices while staying compliant with banking regulations. On-site in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10+ years' commercial lending; loan structuring and credit analysis responsibilities.
• Certifications/Specific Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations; familiarity with local business community.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in a business development plan to increase loan and deposit portfolio of commercial clients within a South State metro market.
• Develop consultative relationships with prospects and clients to add value by delivering appropriate banking solutions.
• Underwrite loan requests within the Bank's policies and procedures and prepare complete packages for credit approval.
• Manage and service assigned loan portfolio.
• Ensure documentation is complete for all loans and deposits.
• Collaborate with Treasury Management Sales Officers, Capital Markets, Wealth, and Retail.
• Demonstrate commitment to fair lending practices and stay compliant with lending regulations.
• Resolve client problems and provide superior service; build positive community relationships.
