Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Service Specialist III, Mechanical Technician to install, troubleshoot, and service commercial and industrial HVAC systems across diverse customers. You will interpret drawings, perform advanced diagnostics, and repair or replace components while prioritizing safety and energy efficiency.

The role requires at least 5 years of HVAC/R experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
• Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
• Strong mechanical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial and industrial HVAC systems according to specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
• Interpret system layouts, schematics, and diagrams to ensure accurate installation and operation.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions using diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace HVAC components (motors, fans, thermostats, compressors, pumps).
• Connect electrical wiring, line sets, and ductwork as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning, refrigerant checks, and calibration.
• Service a variety of HVAC equipment (RTUs, split, ductless, pumps, fans, chillers, boilers).
• Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, pressure gauges, leak detectors, brazing equipment).
• Handle refrigerants per EPA regulations.
• Maintain service records and communicate with customers about performance and energy improvements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and off-hours coverage.
