Job summary

Wagman Construction, Inc. in the United States is seeking an Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will assess small commercial projects ($250k–$500k) and prepare detailed cost estimates for construction plans.

Reporting to the VP of Preconstruction, you will collaborate with lead estimators, PMs, subcontractors, and the design team to ensure accurate, competitive estimates that meet safety and quality standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Timely, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and subcontractor relations.
• Knowledge of market pricing and trends.
• Ability to conceptualize and create construction budgets from preliminary designs.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
• Experience: at least 5 years in commercial estimating.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions; conduct site visits.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
• Gather data for conceptual/bid estimates and analyze subcontractor bids.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing from suppliers and assist with bids.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering.
• Collaborate with PMs, design teams, and subcontractors to align estimates.
• Monitor project costs and adjust estimates; ensure compliance.
• Assist with bid document control and archiving.
