Job summary

Kapella Group in Centennial, CO is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the estimating process for a range of commercial construction projects. The role requires deep knowledge of cost analysis, CSI divisions, and delivery methods including GMP and hard bid.

You will develop quantity takeoffs, bid strategies, and GMP proposals, manage subcontractor bids, and collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and operations teams to deliver accurate, competitive bids.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience (5-10 preferred for senior-level candidates)
• Proven experience estimating ground-up, renovation, TI, and/or design-build projects
• Strong working knowledge of CSI divisions
• Experience with GMP contracts and hard bid procurement
• Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and addenda accurately
• Strong subcontractor network and bid leveling experience
• Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, Procore, Sage, Planswift, On-Screen Takeoff)
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead the full estimating process from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analyses across all CSI divisions
• Develop and manage estimates for ground-up construction, renovations, TI, and design-build projects
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids
• Prepare GMP proposals and hard bid submissions
• Collaborate with pre-construction, project management, and operations teams
• Participate in value engineering efforts
• Review drawings and specifications to identify risk, cost drivers, and scope gaps
• Present estimates and bid strategies to executive leadership
