Job summary

American Air Conditioning & Heating is seeking experienced Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanics / HVAC Duct Installers for its San Antonio and Austin projects. The role requires owning basic tools, knowledge of duct installation from plans, and the ability to work without constant supervision.

You will install ductwork, read plans, take measurements, perform field modifications, and coordinate with other trades on active commercial projects. Strong reliability and attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial HVAC duct installation and ability to read mechanical plans.
• Own basic sheet metal/HVAC hand tools and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork (rectangular, spiral, round, flex) and related components.
• Read and interpret mechanical plans and duct layouts.
• Hang, support, seal, and connect duct systems; take field measurements and modify as needed.
• Perform sheet metal modifications (offsets, doglegs, transitions).
• Coordinate with other trades and adapt to jobsite conditions.
• Travel between San Antonio and Austin projects; maintain clean, quality workmanship.
