Job summary

Vortex Doors, America’s highest quality and customer-centric door repair company, seeks an Experienced Commercial Door Technician to join our field team. You will install, repair, and maintain various commercial doors, docks and related hardware at customer sites, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

The role requires 4+ years in the door industry, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in the commercial door service industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Physically able to move items weighing 50 lbs. or higher and climb ladders up to 20'.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, docks, and related hardware.
• Diagnose and repair door issues including springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components; welding training available.
• Install and configure door hardware such as locks, handles, closers, low-voltage, and access control systems.
• Ensure all installed doors meet safety and building code regulations and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes and offering solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
