Job summary

Peoples Bank in Ohio seeks an experienced Commercial Credit Underwriter to assess complex loan requests, perform thorough credit analyses, and structure deals in line with bank policy. You will work with portfolio managers to protect the bank’s interests while delivering timely decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of underwriting experience, plus strong communication skills and regulatory knowledge. Travel within Peoples Bank footprint is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics required.
• 5+ years of commercial credit underwriting or related experience.
• Travel may be required; valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites primarily moderately more complex loan requests to meet customer and prospects needs while protecting bank.
• Performs high quality credit analysis and underwriting to identify and mitigate risks including repayment sources, collateral, and industry impact.
• Evaluates credit requests and structure.
• Complies with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Validates loan codes within packages for accuracy.
• Participates in Pre-Flight discussions and memorializes takeaways.
• Builds out loan request details in origination system with portfolio managers.
• Performs appraisal review and evaluation if applicable.
• Validates risk ratings and requests changes if warranted.
• May perform spreads, renewals, extensions, shelf reviews, collateral analysis, and risk rating validation.
