Job summary

Bank of America in Charlotte, NC seeks a Credit Underwriter to structure and underwrite complex credit transactions with minimal oversight. You will deliver financial and industry analysis, recommend deals, and manage merchant exposure within credit guidelines and regulatory requirements.

You will coach Sales partners and Credit team members, work with cross-functional partners, and help drive the bank's merchant services strategy.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of solid experience in commercial underwriting, including financial analysis, spreading financials, risk ratings, and portfolio management.
• Experience preparing and completing a variety of Risk Rating scorecards.
• Strong communication and analytical/technical skills; including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring.
• Prior experience in a high volume commercial credit production environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs underwriting and the structuring of more complex credit transactions.
• Researches and delivers financial, industry, economic, and other analysis to recommend and approve merchant exposure.
• Negotiates relationships and approves merchant exposure, while ensuring adherence to credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Provides coaching and support to Sales partners and Credit team members to build credit acumen.
• Negotiates with client teams on credit terms and prepares deal justification.
• Performs financial, economic, industry analyses of clients and prospects.
• Designs and executes credit solutions and active asset quality management.
• Collaborates with RM, GMS, TSO, Enterprise Credit and product partners to deliver integrated solutions.
