Job summary

Capitolbank is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to independently underwrite complex commercial credit requests and provide clear, well-supported recommendations to the lending teams. The role analyzes borrowers, guarantors, financial performance, collateral, and industry conditions while supporting risk management and regulatory compliance.

The position partners with commercial lenders, mentors junior analysts, and prepares detailed credit narratives for committee review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or economics preferred.
• 3+ years of progressively responsible commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience.
• Banking experience required.
• Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently underwrite new commercial loans, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews involving complex borrowing relationships.
• Analyze commercial real estate, investment real estate, C&I, operating line, construction and development, and SBA loan requests.
• Spread financial statements and evaluate historical performance including strengths and weaknesses.
• Prepare complete, accurate credit presentations for approval by the loan committee.
• Mentor junior credit analysts by reviewing work and sharing credit concepts.
• Monitor loan renewals and collaborate with Lenders to obtain required documents and information.
