Job summary

Cyclops is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to own commercial legal work while supporting corporate and compliance duties for a regulated stablecoin platform. Reporting to the Co-Founder and acting CLO, you will negotiate client, partner, and vendor agreements and guide licensing and compliance across US and EU contexts.

You will collaborate across teams, escalate issues when needed, and keep leadership updated on deals and legal matters in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant legal experience, in-house or at a top law firm.
• Strong commercial contracting experience with independent drafting and negotiations.
• Knowledge of corporate governance, equity, and licensing obligations.
• Familiarity with crypto, payments, and regulatory contexts.
• Sound judgment and a practical, risk‑weighted approach.
• Clear communication to non‑lawyers and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Serve as the primary legal point of contact for commercial deals from term sheet to signature.
• Build templates, playbooks, and processes to speed contracting.
• Partner with commercial, product, and leadership teams to identify risk and offer pragmatic solutions.
• Support regulatory, licensing, data privacy, AML/sanctions, and related compliance matters.
• Assist with corporate governance, board materials, and equity/option matters.
• Manage outside counsel, scope work, and control spend.
