Job summary

Pie Insurance in Denver, CO is seeking a Staff Attorney to lead commercial contract review and negotiation across the organization. You will own the contracting workflow in LinkSquares, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and manage the contract repository including renewal dates and obligations.

You’ll also oversee Pie’s legal collections, draft demand letters, coordinate with outside counsel, and support corporate governance and regulatory compliance efforts as the legal team grows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant legal experience
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school; active bar licensure in at least one U.S. state; California licensure preferred
• Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts; familiarity with contract lifecycle management tools; LinkSquares a plus
• 1 year of experience with collections, accounts receivable, or creditor rights matters
• Litigation experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and service agreements for Pie, across business partners
• Serve as the primary contact for contract intake and workflow in LinkSquares
• Identify legal risks and propose revisions that protect Pie’s interests
• Collaborate with Technology, Finance, Operations and other teams to understand contracting needs
• Manage the executed contract repository and track key dates and obligations
• Handle subpoena responses
• Lead Pie’s legal collections process for unpaid accounts; draft demand letters; coordinate with outside counsel
• Support corporate governance matters and regulatory compliance; assist with policy updates
