Job summary

Washington Trust is seeking a Commercial Banker for the C&I Lending team in Providence, RI. You will deliver commercial credits, treasury management services, and related advisory to business clients while developing strong relationships with large middle market customers.

The role emphasizes underwriting, loan structuring, and cross-selling of cash management and wealth products, with onsite/hybrid work in Providence. A strong track record in commercial lending and client service is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field required.
• 5–8 years of experience in commercial credit, analysis, or business development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with large middle market businesses and their owners.
• Structure, underwrite, and present credit analyses with recommendations on borrowing requests.
• Negotiate term sheets, commitment letters and loan structures based on risk and pricing parameters.
• Grow and retain the customer portfolio through proactive relationship management and cross-selling.
• Monitor credits through periodic reviews and covenant/risk rating analyses.
• Coach and mentor junior loan support staff and ensure compliance with policies.
