Job summary

Everest Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Underwriter, Commercial Auto for its Wholesale Casualty team. You will build and manage a profitable E&S Commercial Auto portfolio across the Central Region, with flexibility to work from Chicago or remotely within the region.

The role emphasizes underwriting new and renewal business, broker partnerships, and adherence to underwriting guidelines. Strong knowledge of Commercial Auto and CPCU or similar designation preferred.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of commercial underwriting experience.
• Strong expertise in Commercial Auto underwriting within E&S or wholesale market.
• Experience underwriting transportation, contractor auto, trucking, or auto-focused casualty risks.
• Proven success managing broker relationships and generating new business.
• Independently manage a book of business with underwriting discipline.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal E&S Commercial Auto business, including fleet, public auto, contractor auto, transportation, and other complex exposures.
• Develop and maintain a profitable book of business within the Central Region.
• Build strong relationships with wholesale broker partners and serve as a trusted market resource.
• Evaluate risk exposures, pricing adequacy, terms and coverage structures for profitability.
• Execute underwriting strategies aligned with regional growth objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive Everest Evolution branding.
• Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Operations, Product, and Distribution teams.
• Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and broker activity in the territory.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and referral processes.
