Job summary

DB Insurance USA is seeking an experienced Property & Casualty Underwriter to evaluate, underwrite, and manage commercial auto accounts with a focus on risk assessment, pricing, and profitability. The role reports to the Senior Actuarial Manager and operates in a hybrid environment after one year.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years of P&C underwriting, strong analytics, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field.
• 5+ years of P&C underwriting experience.
• Strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance principles and risk evaluation.
• Experience managing commercial accounts and making sound underwriting decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, underwrite, and manage commercial P&C accounts; review submissions and pricing.
• Analyze loss history, financials, and risk profiles to guide decisions.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, actuarial information, and industry best practices.
• Build relationships with brokers, agents, and internal teams.
• Manage renewals and new business submissions with proper documentation.
• Monitor portfolio performance and market trends to guide strategy.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, finance, and risk teams.
• Ensure compliance with policies, state regs, and industry standards.
• Participate in special projects to improve processes and profitability.
