Photon, a leading Digital Platform Engineering company, is seeking a Technical Architect to design and lead large-scale systems for commerce domains. The role emphasizes cloud architecture, secure development, and cross-functional leadership across multiple domains.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of software engineering experience, strong AWS/DevOps capabilities, and a track record of delivering scalable, observable, and secure architectures that support millions of users and complex customer

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
Cloud platforms experience (AWS preferred).
Design, scale, and optimize systems supporting millions of users.
Strong security engineering and secure development practices.
Experience with mobile infrastructure, crash analytics, release automation.
Expertise in integration platforms, vendor ecosystems, and enterprise workflow automation.
Experience with AI-assisted development and automation.
Monitoring, observability, and event-driven systems.
Spec-first practice — authors complete technical specifications and drives design reviews.
Ability to take ownership of an existing codebase, standards, and roadmap at speed.
Ability to influence product strategy, AI adoption, and business outcomes.
7+ years leading engineering initiatives in a distributed environment (Retail, Hospitality, etc).
