Photon is seeking a Senior Cloud / Server Engineer to design, build, and support scalable backend systems. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, deploying to Kubernetes in cloud environments such as GCP and AWS.

The role emphasizes REST APIs, databases, caching, and production monitoring with Datadog and Grafana. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of software engineering experience, hands-on Kubernetes, API testing, secure coding practices, and familiarity with AI-assisted

Formación

• Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot in enterprise systems.
• Experience designing microservices-based architectures and deploying them.
• Cloud platform experience with AWS and/or GCP.
• Hands-on Kubernetes deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
• Strong REST API design, development, and testing.
• Experience with SQL databases and MongoDB.
• Understanding of caching strategies for performance.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Codex, Gemini CLI).
• Proficient with GitHub for source control and Jira for project tracking.
• Thorough unit testing and API testing practices.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and threat modeling.
• Experience monitoring with Datadog and Grafana; strong debugging skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and support backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs to support clients.
• Work with cloud environments, including GCP and AWS.
• Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes.
• Work with SQL and MongoDB to meet data requirements.
• Design scalable services with effective caching.
• Troubleshoot application, API, and performance issues.
• Write and maintain unit tests; support API testing.
• Adhere to secure coding practices across the SDLC.
• Monitor and troubleshoot using Datadog and Grafana.
• Use GitHub for source control and Jira for task tracking.
• Leverage AI-assisted SDLC tools where appropriate.
