Job summary

Photon is seeking a Senior Cloud / Server Engineer to build and support scalable backend applications and cloud services. You will leverage Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, REST APIs, and databases across GCP and AWS.

You will optimize performance, implement caching, write unit tests, monitor with Datadog and Grafana, and follow secure coding practices while collaborating through GitHub and Jira.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Kubernetes, REST APIs, databases, and cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS. The role also requires experience in application scalability, caching, performance optimization, debugging, testing, and production monitoring.

• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, Gemini CLI, or equivalent tools.
• Experience using GitHub and Jira.
• Strong understanding of unit testing and experience with API testing.
• Understanding of secure coding practices.
• Experience with application monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Datadog and/or Grafana.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
