Job summary

NextPlay Jobs seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild advanced industrial combustion equipment across the United States. This highly hands-on role covers mechanical, electrical, combustion, and refractory systems, with leadership potential for developing field technicians.

Relocation is not required, but extensive overnight travel (50–100%) is common. You’ll diagnose complex issues, support startups, and ensure safe, high-quality service on

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on industrial field service, maintenance, repair, or equipment troubleshooting experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to independently diagnose equipment problems.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
• Comfortable disassembling, repairing, rebuilding, and reassembling industrial equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, technical documentation, and equipment drawings.
• Experience working directly with customers in a field-service environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment-performance issues at customer sites.
• Perform advanced field repairs, preventative maintenance, equipment upgrades, and rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot combustion-related equipment and components.
• Support equipment startups, testing, commissioning, and return-to-service activities.
• Perform mechanical equipment disassembly, repair, and reassembly.
• Assist with electrical troubleshooting, disconnect/reconnect work, controls, and related system components.
• Inspect equipment and identify repair, maintenance, and replacement needs.
• Support refractory repair and replacement projects involving refractory brick, castable materials, ceramic fiber, and insulation.
• Participate in major equipment rebuilds and restoration projects.
• Read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, schematics, and equipment information.
• Document completed work, findings, repairs, and recommended follow-up.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment condition and service work.
• Help troubleshoot unexpected problems that arise during field projects.
• Provide technical guidance and support to developing field technicians
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and workmanship.
• Travel extensively throughout the United States based on customer and project needs.
