Job summary

Great Lakes Credit Union is seeking a Senior Collector to manage complex past-due accounts and drive recovery efforts. You will operate as a subject-matter expert within Collections, handling repossessions, settlements, and post-charge-off actions with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes adherence to FDCPA, policy guidelines, and cross-functional collaboration across departments to serve members effectively and compliantly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in collection roles.
• Knowledge of foreclosure, repossession, debt restructures, charge-offs and recoveries.
• Familiarity with FDCPA and collections policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily collection of complex past-due accounts as SME in Collections.
• Follow up on accounts >30 days, arrange deferred plans, and assist with repossessions.
• Negotiate repayment agreements and review settlements within approved limits.
• Coordinate with agencies/attorneys for post-charge-off recovery.
