Midland Credit Management, part of Encore Capital Group, is seeking a Staff Counsel II to draft, review and file pleadings and to manage collection litigation matters. You will support corporate compliance with debt collection laws and supervise non-legal staff as needed.

You will provide legal advice to the business, interact with courts and outside counsel, and help determine settlements for consumers in hardship. This role requires JD and 3+ years of legal experience.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• 3+ years of legal work experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and file legal pleadings.
• Manage and resolve collection litigation matters cost-effectively.
• Provide legal support for the collections litigation business unit and interact with outside counsel.
