Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Cold Forming Tool Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize tooling systems for manufacturing processes. This role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, training operators, and solving complex tooling challenges across cross-functional teams.

The position focuses on improving product quality, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in tooling design in a manufacturing environment.
• Extensive experience and advanced knowledge of tooling design with a proven track record of successful tooling implementations.
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience, with the ability to coach and develop junior engineers and other technical team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of high-performance tooling for manufacturing equipment, meeting production requirements and industry standards.
• Drive tooling enhancements to increase product quality, reliability, and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address tooling design challenges and resolve issues.
• Propose and implement cost-effective tooling solutions to improve performance and lifespan.
• Oversee the tool change control process in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide expert support during new product launches and ongoing production runs.
