Job summary

Celero Communications, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Principal Applications Engineer in Irvine, CA or San Jose, CA, to lead customer integration of coherent DSP-based optical modules.

You will work with DSP, ASIC, hardware, firmware, and product teams, and directly engage hyperscale customers and partners to validate, debug, and optimize solutions. The role offers a unique chance to influence product direction and customer success in high-speed optical connectivity for AI infrastructure and cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Optical Engineering or Applied Physics.
• 8+ years of experience in related field.
• Willingness to travel up to 25–40% to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Own customer integration and deployment of coherent DSP-based optical modules and systems.
• Collaborate with hyperscalers, NEMs, and partners for system design, bring-up, testing, and validation.
• Analyze performance metrics (BER, Q-factor, SNR) and drive root-cause resolutions across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Create technical documentation, application notes, validation reports, and customer-facing materials.
• Provide feedback to engineering and product teams on feature prioritization and roadmaps.
