Job summary

Celero Communications, Inc. seeks a hands-on Coherent DSP Applications Engineer to drive next-gen coherent DSP solutions from lab to customer deployments.

You will collaborate with DSP, ASIC, hardware, firmware, and product teams while supporting hyperscalers and partners in integration, validation, and field trials. You will configure and optimize DSP parameters, diagnose issues across DSP, optical impairments, and high-speed interfaces, and generate customer-ready documentation for product

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical/Communications/Optical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience and ability to travel up to 25-40% to customer sites as needed.
• Strong fundamentals in digital signal processing, telecommunications theory, and optical communications.
• Hands-on experience with coherent modulation techniques, including QPSK and 16-QAM, FEC and framers, DWDM optical systems and coherent transceivers.
• Experience debugging complex hardware and software interactions in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to independently solve ambiguous, cross-functional technical problems.
• Ability to generate technical documentation, such as Applications notes, Data sheets, Product requirement Documents, etc.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers and internal engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical owner for customer integration and deployment of coherent DSP-based optical modules and systems.
• Work directly with hyperscalers, network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), and strategic partners on system design, platform integration, interoperability testing, and field trials.
• Configure, tune, and optimize coherent DSP parameters to maximize performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning DSP algorithms, optical impairments (CD, DGD), host interfaces (200G/400G/800G PAM4), and module management/telemetry.
• Analyze system performance metrics (BER, Q-factor, SNR) and drive root cause; support interoperability testing in multi-vendor environments.
• Partner with DSP, ASIC, hardware, firmware, and systems teams to resolve issues and contribute to documentation and roadmaps.
