Job summary

Software Technology Inc. in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior IBM Cognos BI Developer with 9+ years of hands-on experience to design and maintain complex Cognos reports, dashboards, and scorecards.

You will build TM1 planning analytics models, optimize metadata, and collaborate with the data warehouse and ETL teams to ensure reports reflect dimensional and relational models. Additionally, the role involves Cognos security configuration, deployment in multi-environment setups, and LDAP/AD integration.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of hands-on IBM Cognos development experience
• Strong proficiency in SQL across relational databases
• Experience with TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics and TI processes is highly preferred
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling (star/snowflake) and data warehouse concepts
• Familiarity with Cognos lifecycle management, deployment, and multi-environment promotion
• Exposure to LDAP/Active Directory integration and Cognos security model configuration
• Design, develop, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and scorecards using Report Studio, Analysis Studio, and Cognos Analytics
• Build and optimize Framework Manager data models, namespaces, and query subjects to support enterprise reporting needs
• Develop and manage TM1/Planning Analytics cubes, dimensions, and TI processes for financial and operational planning
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance BI solutions with minimal oversight
• Troubleshoot and resolve report performance issues, metadata layer defects, and data discrepancies across environments
• Partner with data warehouse and ETL teams to ensure reporting aligns with underlying models
