Job summary

Unitil is seeking a Senior Supervisor for Code Compliance & Training in Portsmouth, NH. You will develop and edit procedures for gas operations, design curricula for instructor-led and eLearning courses, and mentor teams responsible for compliance and training development.

You will oversee documentation standards, ensure regulatory alignment to 49 CFR and state codes, and coordinate field verification and classroom training. Strong writing, project management, and LMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in English, Journalism, Communications, or Teaching or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ experience as Technical Writer and/or Instructional Designer.
• Analyze and synthesize complex content.
• Learn new tools quickly and have strong writing skills.
• Experience in natural gas/energy industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and revise procedures to ensure compliance and safety.
• Oversee SME teams in the change management of procedures.
• Develop templates and style guidelines for document reviews.
• Ensure consistent standards and document language across deliverables.
• Understand code compliance requirements for pipeline regs.
• Communicate changes via LMS and in-person training.
• Observe field procedures and document discrepancies for improvement.
• Design instructional materials for ILT and eLearning.
• Create exams to assess understanding and retention.
• Assist with Operator Qualification program administration.
