Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior CockroachDB Engineer in Plano, TX to lead the design, build, and automation of the CockroachDB DBaaS platform on internal infrastructure. You will drive secure, scalable, highly available deployments with standardized practices and monitoring.

The role requires deep expertise in CockroachDB on Linux, Ansible, and end-to-end distributed DB architectures across regions, with strong emphasis on HA, automation, and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CockroachDB on Linux.
• Expertise with Ansible automation.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed database platforms.
• End-to-end distributed DB architectures (HA, multi-region, active-active).
• Automation solutions for provisioning, deployment, scaling, upgrades.
• Security controls: TLS, certificate lifecycle, KMaaS integration.
• CI/CD integration with Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and deployment of CockroachDB DBaaS on Bank's internal infra.
• Build automation and self-service provisioning.
• Design high-availability, multi-region DB architectures.
• Establish engineering standards and governance for deployments.
• Drive platform reliability, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Lifecycle management for clusters: provisioning, upgrades, patching, scaling.
