Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Senior CockroachDB Engineer to lead the design and deployment of a scalable CockroachDB DBaaS platform on the Bank's internal infrastructure. You will set engineering standards and drive automation for rapid, secure provisioning.

You will build highly available, active-active architectures with global reach, while mentoring teams and aligning with enterprise policies and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and operating large-scale distributed DB platforms.
• Strong design and automation skills for complex data architectures.
• Experience with CockroachDB, Linux, and automation tooling.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical blueprints.
• Security, reliability, and compliance focused database engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of the CockroachDB DBaaS platform.
• Build automation and self-service provisioning for CockroachDB clusters.
• Design high-availability, multi-region database architectures.
• Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, and operating procedures.
• Drive platform reliability with monitoring, tuning, backups, and DR solutions.
• Define lifecycle processes for provisioning, upgrades, and scaling.
• Serve as SME for CockroachDB initiatives and collaborate with CI/CD teams.
• Evaluate new technologies to improve architecture and operations.
