Job summary

Genworth North America Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - COBOL in Lynchburg/Richmond, VA. Hybrid in-office days Tue–Thu with core hours 9am–5pm EST. You will support the CLOAS mainframe-based Long Term Care policy administration system and work within the Service Operations team.

The role requires proficiency with COBOL, mainframe environments, and collaboration with developers, BAs, QA, and IT partners. Agile practices guide development and testing efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining large mainframe COBOL applications.
• Ability to analyze incidents and provide solutions.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Long Term Care policy administration system and resolve incidents.
• Analyze incidents to determine impact and propose solutions.
• Design, code, document and test solutions within the architecture and change control process.
• Create reports from system data for analysis and regulatory/audit needs including SOX.
• Perform administrative duties and participate in agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with team to resolve complex business/technical problems.
