Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in coastal, civil, or ocean engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the U.S. in good standing.
  • 10+ years of coastal or marine engineering experience in consulting or contracting.
  • Experience with coastal/marine design and construction, ecosystem restoration, or navigation dredging.
  • Experience with site investigations, permitting, and construction-phase services.
  • Deep knowledge of coastal engineering design guidelines, codes, and standards.
  • Strong project management: budgeting, scheduling, risk management.
  • Excellent communication and ability to present to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Residence in the Anchorage, AK area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and delivery of complex coastal and waterfront projects.
  • Serve as primary technical lead and project manager.
  • Develop design solutions for coastal protection, erosion control, and marine infrastructure.
  • Review design docs, reports, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with quality control.
  • Ensure safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and manage client relationships; support proposal and BD activities.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across offices and time zones.
  • Oversee site investigations, condition assessments, and construction oversight.
  • Travel and site visits to support project execution and client engagement.
