Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Coastal Engineer, Scientist, or Resilience Planner to lead our coastal practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will build client relationships, guide projects, and mentor staff within a collaborative environment.

The role requires 10+ years in coastal engineering or related fields, strong leadership, and California licensure or planning credentials is preferred. Bay Area relocation is expected for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in coastal engineering or related field; 10+ years of experience in coastal engineering or resilience planning.
• Demonstrated expertise in coastal engineering, resilience planning, adaptation, or related disciplines.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience working directly with clients and developing business opportunities.
• Familiarity with the SF Bay Area coastal regulatory and planning landscape.
• Located in the Bay Area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to coastal engineering, resilience, adaptation, and restoration projects throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
• Grow the coastal practice by building relationships with clients, agencies, and project partners.
• Manage projects, including scopes, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop coastal adaptation plans, engineering studies, technical analyses, and design solutions.
• Support and lead proposal pursuits and business development initiatives.
• Mentor and develop junior staff while fostering a collaborative team culture.
• Represent Stantec in the coastal community through professional engagement and thought leadership.
