Job summary

Lilly is seeking a highly skilled scientist to join the NAMs/CIVMs pillar in Investigative Toxicology, contributing to CNS/PNS safety using advanced human-relevant in vitro models. This role centers on designing, qualifying, and applying neural models to detect liabilities across CNS, PNS, and BBB with mechanistic insight.

Qualifications

• PhD in Neuroscience or closely related field.
• Postdoctoral or industry research experience with neural in vitro models.
• Experience with iPSC-derived neural models, MEA/FLIPR, or BBB models preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply human-relevant in vitro CNS/PNS models (iPSC neurons, glia, organoids, DRG models, BBB) for liability assessment.
• Perform mechanistic investigations into CNS/PNS liabilities including excitotoxicity, neuroinflammation, and BBB disruption.
• Implement MEA and FLIPR readouts to monitor neural network activity and seizurogenic potential; validate new assays.
