Solstice Advanced Materials is hiring a Machinist for their R&D Applications team in Spokane Valley, WA. The role requires operating and programming CNC machines and manual equipment to produce high-quality metal components with strict tolerances.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, problem solving, and teamwork with R&D and production. Eight years of machining experience and CAD/CAM/SolidWorks proficiency are preferred, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
• Eight years of experience machining metal parts in tech/manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CNC machines, manual lathes, and manual mills.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and SolidWorks for design/manufacturing.
• Experience with metals (steel, copper, aluminum, titanium, tantalum, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual machining equipment to produce prototypes and components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and specs.
• Perform precise measurements with micrometers, calipers, and inspection tools.
• Monitor processes to ensure tolerances and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D and production teams to design and fabricate parts.
• Document work and maintain accurate production records.
• Conduct experiments and tests per established protocols.
• Collect/analyze data and prepare results reports.
• Propose process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new technologies.
• Maintain records of experiments, data, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
