Job summary

Decavo seeks a CNC Programmer to develop, modify, and maintain CNC programs for aluminum tooling and composite trimming. You will determine tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and toolpaths, and support machinists during prove-out and production.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Production, and Quality to improve manufacturability, quality, productivity, and schedule performance, and may set up and operate CNC equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience.
• Proficient in Mastercam or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting programs for 3-axis CNC machining centers; 4- or 5-axis preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T and tolerances.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, fixtures, workholding, offsets, feeds and speeds.
• Experience with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam or comparable CAD/CAM software.
• Translate drawings, CAD models, specs and GD&T into safe, repeatable machining processes.
• Determine tooling, workholding, sequences, feeds, speeds, and toolpaths with input from Engineering.
• Simulate and verify programs to identify collisions or risks before production release.
• Develop and maintain setup sheets, tool lists, and documentation for consistent execution.
• Maintain program revision control and release status per document-control requirements.
• Troubleshoot program, post-processor, tooling, and machining issues and implement corrections.
• Occasionally set up and operate CNC equipment to prove out programs.
