Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant experience, or State Journeyman papers.
• Fanuc controls programming knowledge.
• 3D CAD/CAM programming knowledge (Esprit experience preferred).
• Basic math proficiency.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and workflow demands.

Responsibilities

• Program and set up CNC lathes.
• Run initial setup to confirm smooth, stable operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify part features against drawing specifications.
• Program parts using CAM/CNC programming software, fully utilizing tooling and machine capabilities to ensure consistent quality.
• Independently set up CNC lathes from a CNC program.
• Select, align, and secure work holding, cutting tools, and attachments to maximize tool life and job consistency.
• Instruct and train machine operators on newly set-up jobs prior to handoff to production.
• Follow established safety procedures and regulations during all operations.
• Monitor CNC lathe department operations to identify issues affecting production or quality; collaborate with management to resolve problems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support training initiatives and assist team members with problem-solving as needed.
