Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Sidney, OH is seeking a Sr. Machinist Programmer to lead CNC programming and shop-floor support for aerospace components.

This hands-on role blends programming, manufacturing engineering, process development, and collaboration with production teams to drive on-time delivery and quality. You will develop and optimize CNC programs with Mastercam or NX CAM, validate tooling and setups, and guide first articles and production launches in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years in CNC programming or manufacturing/process engineering.
• Strong Mastercam programming experience.
• Experience with Siemens NX CAM preferred.
• Experience programming CNC lathes, VTLs, milling centers, and multi-axis.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.
• Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs using Mastercam and/or NX CAM.
• Support CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, and multi-axis machining centers.
• Create machining strategies for complex aerospace components.
• Determine tooling, fixturing, setup requirements, and manufacturing methods.
• Generate setup sheets, operation instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct machine prove-outs and production launches.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, throughput, and efficiency.
• Maintain revision-controlled CNC programs and documentation.
