Job summary

DRT Aerospace in Sidney, OH is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Process Engineer to lead manufacturing process development for precision-machined aerospace components. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality and external suppliers to create robust CNC processes, tooling concepts, and NC programs, while applying GD&T and CAD/CAM tools.

Ideal candidates have CNC experience, strong problem‑solving, and a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes for precision-machined components.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and process optimization.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with GD&T and CAD/CAM systems like Mastercam and Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for precision-machined components.
• Determine manufacturing methods, operation sequences, tooling, fixturing, inspection requirements, and outside processing needs.
• Create detailed manufacturing routings, operation sheets, setup instructions, and process documentation.
• Generate manufacturing cost estimates and support quoting activities.
• Provide daily engineering support to production and troubleshoot manufacturing challenges.
• Develop CNC machining strategies and NC programs using Mastercam, Siemens NX or similar CAD/CAM software.
