Job summary

DRT Aerospace, LLC is seeking a SR Machinist Programmer to join our precision aerospace manufacturing team on the shop floor. You will develop CNC programs, optimize methods, and work directly with machinists to drive on-time delivery and quality.

You will determine tooling, fixturing, routing, and inspection needs, support first article prove-outs and production launches, and create setup and operation documentation while applying GD&T to blueprints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering, CNC Programming, or Process Engineering experience
• Strong Mastercam programming experience
• Experience supporting CNC mills, lathes, VTLs, or multi-axis machining centers
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs and support program optimization using NX
• Determine manufacturing methods, routing sequences, tooling, fixturing, and inspection requirements

• Create setup sheets, operation sheets, and manufacturing documentation
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues on the shop floor
• Develop manufacturing estimates and job quotes for precision-machined components
• Interpret blueprints and apply GD&T requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and cost reduction
• Partner closely with machinists, supervisors, quality personnel, and production teams
