Job summary

Apera is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Programmer to support machining operations for precision aerospace components on-site. You will develop and optimize CNC programs, create complete machining processes, and lead setup and tooling decisions to ensure quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include first article support, troubleshooting on the shop floor, and collaborating with operators and cross-functional teams to drive production success.

Qualifications

• 4+ years CNC programming experience in manufacturing.
• Strong milling experience; 5-axis a plus.
• Proficiency with CAM software (Esprit preferred).
• Ability to manually edit/write CNC programs (G-code).
• Solid understanding of tooling, cutting parameters, and processes.
• Experience setting up fixturing and machining strategies.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Good problem-solving skills and independence.

We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Programmer to support machining operations for precision aerospace components. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC programs, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and process reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (Esprit preferred)
• Create complete machining processes including setup, fixturing, tooling, and operation sequencing
• Select appropriate cutting tools and determine speeds and feeds for various materials
• Generate setup sheets, tool lists, and clear machining instructions
• Support first article runs and troubleshoot issues on the shop floor
• Collaborate with operators and cross-functional teams to ensure production success
• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve qualityAnalyze manufacturing issues and recommend effective solutions

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with milling (lathe experience a plus; some 5-axis experience preferred)
• Proficiency with CAM software (Esprit strongly preferred)
• Ability to manually edit or write CNC programs (G-code)
• Strong understanding of tooling, machining processes, and cutting parameters
• Experience developing setups, fixturing, and machining strategies
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Experience

• Aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment
• Experience supporting first article inspection and production ramp-up
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
• $35 - $50 per hour (based on experience)
