Job summary

QPD seeks an experienced CNC Programmer to develop and optimize programs for 5-axis machines, using solid models and G Code. You will design fixtures, assist setup, and work with NPI teams to improve manufacturability and cycle times.

Requires 10+ years operating CNC mills/lathes and 6+ years of programming, with strong blueprint and GD&T skills. Occasional overtime may be required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in metal fabrication or machining or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience operating CNC mills, lathes, and CNC equipment.
• Minimum 6 years of programming experience.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Good communication skills and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Develop CNC programs for machines based on solid models and drawings (5-axis).
• Write programs at the machine controller using G Code.
• Collaborate with NP I teams to optimize manufacturability.
• Design and manufacture fixturing and assist setup and tooling.
• Improve cycle times, processes, and tooling; assist with estimating run times.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts.
• Stay current with new programming software versions.
