Senior CNC Process Engineer – Optical Fabrication

Job summary

ASML US seeks a highly skilled Process Engineer to join the Wilton Factory Optical Fabrication team. You will support daily manufacturing operations, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to advance equipment capability and product performance.

The role requires a strong background in optics fabrication, CNC machining, and data-driven problem solving, with leadership experience in process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Optical, Materials, or related field)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in optical fabrication process engineering or a related manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with optics fabrication techniques, including CNC machining, polishing, and surface inspection
• Proficient in root cause analysis (RCA) and lean manufacturing tools
• Familiarity with metrology techniques and quality assurance in optics manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to lead problem-solving initiatives and implement process improvements
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work effectively across different departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines

Responsibilities

• Champion a safety-first culture by identifying hazards and following EHS safety protocols
• Develop, document, and improve CNC machining processes, programs, and workflows for new and existing products
• Optimize cycle times, toolpaths, feeds/speeds, and work holding to improve quality and throughput
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and metrology to resolve technical challenges and implement sustainable solutions
• Diagnose and resolve machining issues related to tooling, fixturing, programming, and equipment behavior
• Partner with maintenance and vendors to address machine performance, repeatability issues, or reliability concerns
• Analyze machining performance using SPC, capability studies, and data-driven problem solving
• Define process specifications and control limits; utilize statistical analysis tools to evaluate process capabilities and drive data-driven decision-making
• Perform hands-on process trials and support qualification of new equipment, materials, and process changes
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations or nonconformances
• Drive 5S and workplace organization around CNC areas
