Job summary

Ward Leonard LLC, located in Thomaston, Connecticut, is seeking a Sr Process Engineer - CNC to support the Motors Business Unit. The role involves manufacturing engineering tasks, programming CNC machines, designing tooling, and improving internal processes to maximize OEE and uptime.

The engineer will use SolidWorks for drawings, Esprit CAM for CNC programming, and collaborate with CNC, maintenance, QA, and engineering teams on new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Extensive machining experience preferred.
• Experience with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and best practices.
• Familiarity with rotating machines is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T principles.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S) is a bonus.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain bills of manufacture in the ERP system.
• Design tools and fixtures for in-house or external manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot shop floor issues with cross-functional teams.
• Handle Non-Conforming Materials from internal and external sources.
• Specify and document manufacturing processes for part production.
• Review ECNs and update engineering masters and work orders.
