Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, Taylor Mill, KY, is seeking a CNC Operator to run a 5-axis Atlas in the manganese department. You will write, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC programs, read blueprints, and operate machinery including grinders, lathes, mills, and routers. It is a true temp-to-hire role with benefits and quarterly bonuses; step progression available. Training on first shift may be provided.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum 1 year CNC machine operator experience.
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to inspect rail using measuring devices.
• Must be a team player and adhere to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates CNC machinery using preprogrammed software to shape metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and orders to determine specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance; submit work orders as needed.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and follow safety procedures.
• Operate overhead cranes and use digital calipers for accuracy.
• Assist in other areas as directed by supervisor.
