Job summary

Projects Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled Mill-Turn Machinist in Connecticut to independently set up, program, and operate CNC mill-turn (multi-tasking) machines producing complex, high-precision components.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of CNC experience, strong GD&T and blueprint interpretation, and can optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and mentor other machinists in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
• 8+ years of CNC machining experience with mill-turn / multitasking equipment.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, height gauges).

Responsibilities

• Independently set up and operate CNC mill-turn / multitasking machines.
• Load and qualify turning tools, live tooling, milling cutters, drills, and probes.
• Establish work offsets, tool offsets, spindle orientation, and probing routines.
• Run, edit, and optimize CNC programs for combined turning and milling operations.
• Perform complex machining including OD/ID turning, threading, live-tool milling, cross-drilling, and multi-axis contouring.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, CAD data, and GD&T requirements.
