Job summary

Projects Inc. in Connecticut is seeking a skilled Mill-Turn Machinist to set up and operate CNC mill-turn (multi-tasking) machines on either the first or second shift.

This role offers a path for experienced machinists who can work independently, troubleshoot routine issues, and consistently meet quality and production standards. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of CNC milling/turning experience, strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge, and the ability to program or edit CNC code.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC mill-turn or multi-axis experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficient in setting up and editing CNC programs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mill-turn/multitasking machines.
• Install and align chucks, collets, fixtures, tooling, and live tools.
• Load and qualify turning tools, milling cutters, drills, and probes.
• Set work offsets, tool offsets, and basic probing routines.
• Run and make minor edits to CNC programs (G-code or conversational).
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure tolerances and finishes.
• Make adjustments for tool wear and dimensional control.
• Troubleshoot common machining, tooling, and setup issues.
• Perform routine machine care and preventive maintenance.
• Complete job travelers and inspection documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
