Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) in Smithfield, NC, is seeking a CNC Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain CNC machinery and related equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on maximizing machine reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe operation, with a strong emphasis on electrical, hydraulic, and control systems expertise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in CNC/high-volume environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot CNC equipment from schematics and OEM docs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose CNC control faults using schematics, alarms, and machine data.
• Repair, rebuild or replace components like ball screws, spindles, bearings, motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance including lubrication and calibration.
• Troubleshoot servo drives, VFDs, PLCs, and HMIs.
• Assist with machine installation, relocation, startup, and commissioning.
• Record maintenance activities in CMMS and support continuous improvement.
