Job summary

Salvagnini America, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to join our Tooling Department. You’ll set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment used to manufacture precision punch tooling to ±0.0004" tolerances.

This is a precision, low-volume environment. You’ll work with technicians to prioritize workload, manage orders end-to-end, and perform quality checks before shipment. Training lasts 10–12 weeks (Mon–Fri, 8:00–4:00).

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience setting up, programming, and operating CNC equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and work orders.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment to verify tolerance.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment to manufacture punch tooling.
• Read and interpret drawings and internal work orders.
• Inspect tooling with micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to 0.0001".
• Create/modify CNC programs for various tooling types.
• Troubleshoot processes, equipment, and programs as needed.
• Manage tooling orders through production and QC to shipment.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and keep area clean.
