Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines and manual tools, ensuring parts meet exact dimensions and tolerances. You will inspect using optical comparators and CMM, troubleshoot issues, and maintain documentation.

The role requires reading blueprints, familiarity with GibbsCam, and adherence to 5S and safety standards. 5-10 years of CNC experience and a technical degree are preferred for this salaried position, located on-site in our manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5-10 years’ CNC machining experience with drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerance and true position.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection methods.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
• Team player with good communication.
• Lean 5S awareness.
• Basic G code programming and GibbsCam familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines and metal-working tools to exact dimensions.
• Inspect with optical comparator and CMM; perform first part and in-process inspections.
• Troubleshoot problems and perform routine maintenance.
• Produce parts to close tolerances; handle exotic materials.
• Create setup sheets and ensure accurate documentation.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain clean work area and follow 5S and safety rules.
• Adhere to quality program and environmental regulations.
• Adapt to changing work environment and deadlines.
• Perform basic measurement and recording with calipers, micrometers, height gauge.
